Choosing between iridescent and amber

Both glasses share the same shape, the same 20.3 fl oz bowl and the same lead-free crystal — only the finish differs. Is one glass right for red and white?

Yes. A 20.3 fl oz bowl leaves plenty of room to swirl a normal 5 oz pour, which is what releases aroma in fuller reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends, and it works just as well for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and rosé. Most homes are better served by one good all-round glass than by a cupboard of varietal-specific shapes.
